GERMANTOWN, MD—Today, Coalition of Asian Founded in 1998, CAPAD-MD is the first and only statewide Asian Pacific American Democratic Organization recognized by
Maryland’s Democratic Party. Its mission is to help promote, support, and advance the interests of the Democratic Party in Maryland by promoting, supporting, and conducting
activities and programs that encourage and promote the education and participation of primarily Asian Pacific Americans in the affairs, activities, programs, and endeavors of the Democratic Party.
In a joint statement released by CAPAD-MD Co Chair Stan Tsai and Chung Pak, CAPAD-MD Endorsement Committee Co Chair, they said, “We are proud to endorse respected state legislator Aruna Miller for Congress.
She has the experience we need to lead at the national level and she reflects our progressive values.”“ Diversity and equal opportunity for all are among our greatest assets and we must vigorously defend and embrace these core values as we move into the 21st century. CAPAD has done great work in Maryland and I deeply appreciate their endorsement particularly as Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month comes to a close,” Delegate Aruna Miller said.
Delegate Miller was previously endorsed by the Latino Democratic Club of Montgomery County.
Aruna Miller is a civil engineer and worked for Montgomery County DOT for 25 years. She was elected in 2010 and re-elected in 2014 to the Maryland House of Delegates where she represents the 15th District and serves on the Appropriations Committee. Aruna and her husband have raised three daughters and live in the 6th Congressional District with her mother and their two dogs.
